Salsa Classes for Improvers

Prompted by enquiries about classes for beginners earlier this year I started classes for beginners and improvers on Saturday afternoons.

The first sessions were in March with a great mix of beginners and improvers, plus some experienced dancers who came along to help.

We now have a great group who are at IMPROVER level and we will continue the sessions at that level.

The sessions will be aimed at improvers and focus on:

• linking basic steps and turns into simple combinations.
• improving leading and following, giving and interpreting the signals.
• building up the confidence of leaders to actually lead.
• having fun.

The sessions are very relaxed and informal. A two-hour session may seem a long time but it's an opportunity to learn, improve and practice at a gentle pace. I want people to learn a little, enjoy themselves a lot, and come back for a little bit more.

Please do not come to a session if:

- you feel unwell.

- you have a high temperature.

- or if you have symptoms of a common cold.

The Arts Centre Washington

We've been using the Arts Centre Washington since 2005. It's not too far from Sunderland or Durham or Newcastle. Very easy to find, well signposted and only one mile from the A1 at Birtley services. Free car park. See map below.

The centre is a converted 19th century farm that is now a multi-arts centre with a theatre, art gallery, rehearsal rooms and music studio.
